The Cambridge University Press is the printing and publishing house of the University of Cambridge. For centuries, the press has extended research and teaching activities of the University by making available world-wide, through its printing and publishing, a remarkable range of academic and educational books, journals, examination papers and Bibles. It is in fact the oldest printing and publishing house in the world. It was founded on a royal charter granted to the University by Henry VIII in 1534 and has been operating continuously as a printer and publisher since the first press book was printed in 1584.
